Marissa and Dave

Whimsical and fun would be the perfect way to describe Marissa and Dave’s wedding. They wanted their wedding to feel extremely light and airy but they also wanted to include elements that made the day feel classic and timeless while staying in line with the modern aesthetic of the venue, the Waterloo Region Museum. We love when couples want to incorporate personal touches into their wedding day. Dave is a huge soccer enthusiast, so we somehow needed to incorporate soccer into the big day, but we were totally up for the challenge!

The entire wedding was white on white on white, except for the florals, which really added that perfect pop of colour. There were tall vases filled with delphiniums, stock and snapdragons, as well as vases filled with twinkle lights among a bed of greens to add ambient lighting.

Everything, including the cake, had a very watercolour feel to it. Even the menus and place cards had a watercolour motif that was created by our in-house designer.

The ceremony backdrop was made of over 50 balloons with an additional 80 balloons that we tagged with guest’s names and table number. Aside from that we used another 60 down the aisle, so that when the bridesmaid and groomsmen made their way down the aisle it was if they were walking through a sea of balloons. There were literally balloons everywhere…trust us!  Countless balloons definitely helped to keep the wedding very whimsical.

One of our favourite things about this wedding was the Remi cookies. Remi is Marissa and Dave’s beloved dog (who couldn’t be there in person, but they wanted there in spirit), so we had his face superimposed onto cookies that guests got to take home. Cute, right?!
