A Garden-inspired backyard Micro Wedding for Caroline & Cody

Looking for ideas to inspire your backyard wedding or intimate affair? Then this feature is for YOU! This was one of our favourite micro wedding celebrations of 2020 and we’re sharing all the details.

Caroline and Cody were set to have a modern and contemporary soiree with 120 guests on September 19th, 2020 at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Unfortunately, with the unexpected turn of events that occurred due to COVID-19, their plans were uprooted and eventually led them to host an incredibly romantic micro wedding with their closest friends and family!

Bringing comfort and convenience to their guests, the wedding ceremony took place at the Bride’s parents house whose architecture and landscape boasted awe-inspiring views and set the backdrop for the most beautiful ceremony and portrait photographs all so beautifully captured by Elizabeth In Love. Although smaller in scale, their chosen venue reminded us of one of Toronto’s most iconic and elegant event spaces, Graydon Hall Manor.

Modelling our design around the gorgeous landscape and scenic view, we built a custom triple tiered arch and adorned it with the most beautiful garden-esque florals, creatively arranged by The Flower 597. Letting nature work it’s magic, we played with the lush greenery surrounding the venue to create a tranquil scene for the ceremony space. And just like that, with 25 of their closest in attendance, Caroline and Cody stood in front of this flower-filled arch, shared their vows and officially tied the knot in style!

To elevate this celebration, guests were invited to a post-ceremony reception where they listened to romantic live renditions by an acoustic guitarist from the award-winning, Toronto Jazz Collective and enjoyed individual plates of canapés courtesy of No Small Feast! Guests were then transported to Black Angus Steakhouse where they had a private dining experience to end the evening.

Amidst all the uncertainty as plans had to pivot and guest lists cut short, Caroline and Cody’s pursuit for an unforgettable day was still top of mind and we were on board to support them through the journey. Working alongside some of our favourite vendors this turned out to be a magical day filled with so much love!
